How dealers can simplify vehicle movement

Stop treating transport as a side task. A dealer movement process that coordinators can actually run.

The hidden cost is coordination, not the mile

Most dealer groups already have transporters they like. The pain is repeating the same brief: auction this morning, customer by Friday, the other site needs the white Qashqai, finance wants a POD. Each request is rewritten in a slightly different form.

Simplifying movement means one job shape for every request, regardless of whether it is an auction collection, a stock transfer or a customer delivery.

Four rules that reduce admin

Standardise the brief. If a movement cannot be posted with locations, vehicle, dates and notes, it is not ready for anyone to quote.

Separate movement types. A customer handover is not a branch transfer. Mixed types create the wrong proof and the wrong conversation with the buyer.

Keep evidence on the job. POC and POD photographs are operations documents, not WhatsApp souvenirs.

Give one person the live status. Customers should not wait while three people guess where the car is.

What not to simplify away

Do not skip condition at collection to save two minutes. Do not let preferred transporters work entirely off-platform if you still need a group record. And do not promise a delivery time that the collection slot cannot support.

VMove gives dealers one place to post movements, receive quotes, track status and keep POC/POD. That is the simplification — not a claim about being the UK’s largest network.

Common questions

Can site managers and group admins both use VMove?

Dealer accounts are the login type. How you split sites internally should match how you actually post jobs — do not invent a group structure the platform does not show in the product.

Does simplifying mean using only one transporter?

No. Simplifying means one process. You can still receive multiple quotes on a posted movement.
